Ethan Starts Preschool!

(Dated: September 7th 2012)

Ethan has been waiting for the day that he could be just like big brother and go to school. He was so eager to get out the door! We dropped Carson off at school earlier and then had 30 min before we had to get Ethan to school right down the street so we got a little treat of cinnamon melts at Mcdonalds and headed over. All of his excitement turned to a bit of shyness when it was time to go into class, but luckily he quickly recognized his teacher, Mrs. Emerick, (aka: Miss Anna-the babysitter we had for a year when I first went back to school!) and gave her a hug and headed in to class with a quick goodbye.

Ethan had a great first day and couldn't wait to show me what he brought home. We headed over to a park for a picnic lunch. He had to carry his back pack around with him EVERYWHERE-including up and down the slides! And everyday, EVERYWHERE for the next 2 weeks!

He still continues to love school. Everyday he wishes it was his "gool" day asking "Mom, is it my gool day?" or "Mom? I get to go to gool today?"It's sweet, but sadly we only signed him up for 2 days this year, just as we did with Carson. Considering they are completely different children, we are looking at adding a third day in there come the new year.

Back in the game and Carson starts Kindergarten!

So I've decided it's time to get back to the blogging game now that I have WAY more down time! This way, hopefully you all can enjoy a few more pics of our kiddos and keep up on the happenings of the Berget family! (Thankfully blogger has made things easier and quicker then when I last posted, but I'm not doing collages right now, so you'll have to deal with scrolling through the bazillion pics I post!!!)

I'll only back track to the beginning of the school year. Seems like a good place to start.

Carson started Kindergarten this year! I can't believe that we have a child old enough to be in real school! Carson certainly seemed prepared, definitely was NOT! Things were a bit uncertain leading up to the school year. There were some uncertainties on exactly what school Carson would go to and weren't finalized until a few weeks before school started.  On top of that, we went on one last family vacation the week before school started, so we missed the open house. Luckily we were able to arrange things so Carson could get a tour of the school beforehand and know where his class was. I think he was a little nervous, but mostly excited to start the big day!

Chris gave him a father's blessing the night before and we arranged for a babysitter to watch the two little ones so Chris and I could both take Carson on his first day. Lines were LONG getting him there so we were a bit frantic and barely made it in time, but our little big boy was brave and when it came time for us to leave he gave us a hug and kiss and waved good bye. I may have cried a little that day.

Good luck hugs from Ethan!
edited to add: Carson's teacher is Mrs. Chamblin. So far so good! Also, for the first couple weeks of school we took Carson in to his class and then picked him up from the office (much quicker then waiting in the kiss-and-ride lines). Emily would get sooo excited when she would see Carson, she'd run up to him and give him the biggest hug. So sweet. This was the best picture I could get.
